“The evening includes entertainment by the 2013 DWOS cast along with a silent auction and raffles, a cash bar and light hors d’oeuvres provided by Buffalo Wild Wings, Fork ’N Finger, Gatti’s Pizza, Hattie Beasley’s, Market Street Café, Melini’s, Oscar’s, Port City Café & Pub, Scioto Ribber, Minford Subway and Toro Loco – Washington St.,” said Vicky Hatcher, event chairman. sponsored by The Party Connection, are $10.00 per person and are available at the Red Cross Chapter House at 1801 Robinson or Neal Hatcher Real Estate at 902 8th Street in Portsmouth.
Ohio River Valley Chapter Dancing With Our Stars resembles ABC Television’s hit “Dancing
with the Stars” and features ten community members, known as “star dancers”, who compete both on the dance floor and to raise money for the local Red Cross.
The first season of Dancing with Our Stars was presented to a sell-out crowd and generated more than $43,000.00 to support the local Red Cross programs in the community. Not only do those in attendance support local efforts, so can those not attending as the “star dancers” receive votes in the form of donations to the Red Cross. One dollar equals one vote. All funds raised support local disaster prevention, preparation and relief, the life-saving training of first aid, CPR/AED classes, collection and testing of blood and blood products, support to military members serving around the globe, the transportation program and international programs.
Dancing with our Stars 2014 will take place Saturday, April 5th at the Friend’s Community Center.
Ticket information will be available at a later date. For more event information visit the Ohio River Valley Chapter Red Cross website or the Ohio River Valley Chapter Facebook page.
