An RN at King’s Daughters Medical Center Ohio, Taylor has been happily married for seven years. He and his wife Beth have three sons, Owen 5, Sebastian 3 and Henry 2 months. His first and only dancing experience begins and ends with dances at the CAY during middle school. He admits he did have fun! In his spare time Taylor enjoys various sports, gardening, outdoors and best of all spending time with his family. His first thought about the Red Cross is the work they do providing hospitals with blood and their disaster relief efforts. When asked to dance in Dancing With Our Stars 2015, he laughed as he was born with two left feet, so he doesn't move as gracefully as he would like. However, as he gave more thought to the event and the overall goal, he realized what a truly unique opportunity this is for him to actually contribute positively to this community. Taylor looks forward to helping raise money, embarrassing himself and having a lot of fun in the process. Hopefully his partner Autumn Thompson will teach him some groovy moves! Photography by Terry Horner-Phipps of The Studio A lifelong resident of Portsmouth and a Portsmouth Realtor for 50 years, Neal has always been passionate about the growth of our community. He and his wife have developed numerous commercial sites in the area as well as student housing to help the growth of Shawnee State University. Neal has always believed in giving back to others and enjoys giving back to the community that has supported him and his family for many years. His first dance experiences were swim dances at Dreamland Pool when he was too shy to dance and spent most of his time playing ping-pong. In 1978, he and his wife won a twist contest while on a cruise. Then in 2005 he appeared on stage with Chubby Checkers at the Rock and Roll House Party held at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. Although some people say he doesn't have any rhythm, he still enjoys twisting the night away and hopes his partner Elizabeth Scott can keep up with him on the dance floor! In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, riding his Yamaha scooter, speed walking and spending time with his family, especially his three Grandchildren, Tanner (21), Mary (13) and Gwen (10). The Red Cross has been a part of his family’s heritage for years. His mother, father-in-law, sister-in-law and wife all served on the local Red Cross Board at one time or another. Neal began giving blood at the age of 17 and has given more than three gallons through the years. Neal feels that by participating in Dancing With Our Stars he has found a new and exciting way to give back to his community and he can help raise funds which keep Red Cross services readily available for those in need. John believes it is an organization that keeps the end-user of charitable contributions in mind and has been on the front-line of humanitarian aid since its inception. When asked to participate in Dancing With Our Stars, John welcomed the opportunity to embarrass himself in front of family, friends and even members of the community in hopes that his participation will help raise money for the Red Cross.
