Born and raised in McDermott, T.J. recently returned to Portsmouth as a Pediatrician with SOMC Pediatric Associates after graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completing his residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. He and his wife are the proud parents of one daughter, Kairi age 2 and her new baby brother Spencer.
In his spare time T.J. enjoys comic books, soccer, digital art, playing with his children, sci-fi and his involvement in children’s outreach. Basically, he's an all around nerd and a giant child himself!
T.J. has been in a lot of videos and talent shows of the comedic variety; however, he never took dancing seriously. He's very excited to be in a real competition and looks forward to busting a move with his partner Ashlyn Howie. He just hopes that he will not experience any serious bodily injury during the competition!
T.J. views the Red Cross as an organization originated as a personification of the qualities that all should strive for as individuals. Whether through blood drives or providing much needed supplies, the Red Cross serves the simple purpose of improving the lives of the vulnerable. He is humbled by the opportunity to play a part (even if it is a super small part) in such an amazing organization.
When initially asked to dance, he thought there is no way! "I just moved back to Portsmouth, have a growing family, a new job and am readjusting to the wonders of Southern Ohio." Then after a little persuasion from his family and colleagues, he warmed up to the idea of being a “Star”and is really stoked about the awesome times he’ll have raising money for such a good cause.
"That’s right Red Cross – Bring on the pain and humility because this pediatrician is ready to rock!"
You can vote for T.J. and Ashlyn here: https://www.crowdrise.com/DWOS/fundraiser/tjstidham and remember every dollar donated in his name is a dollar to support the local American Red Cross.
