Join the DWOS2016 Stars and their partners on November 6th between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Elks City Club! Friday Mashup is sponsored by The Party Connection and promises to be an evening of fun for all. The cast of local celebrities is anxious to meet you and participate in Dancing with Our Stars 2016 for the Ohio River Valley American Red Cross. The Star Dancers will compete to raise the most money and take home the coveted Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy.
New to this year's event is a DANCE CONTEST which gives everyone an opportunity to perform during an intermission at Dancing With our Stars 2016 on March 19, 2016 at the Friends Community Center. Put on your dancing shoes, grab a partner and come show your stuff with a 2 minute performance. The winner will be determined by crowd applause. The contest is open to the first ten couples to register with the Red Cross by calling 740-354-3293.
In addition to the Dance Contest, the evening includes light hors d'oeuvres provided by Port City Cafe and 83 Sweets, music by DJ Melanie Porter, entertainment by the 2015 DWOS cast, and a cash bar.
Dancing with Our Stars is now in its fourth year. Not only do those in attendance support local efforts, so can those not attending as the star dancers receive votes in the form of donations to the Red Cross. One dollar equals one vote. All funds raised support disaster prevention, preparation and relief, the
life-saving training of first aid, CPR/AED classes, collection and testing of blood and blood products, support to military members serving around the globe and international programs.
Last year’s event raised more than $180,000 in net revenue for the Ohio River Valley Americanl Red Cross. Neal Hatcher, local Realtor, took home the Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy after raising more than $105,000. Dancing with our Stars 2016 will take place Saturday, March 19 at the Friend’s Community Center in Portsmouth. Information about tickets will be available at a later date.
Tickets for Friday Mashup are $10 per person and are available at the Red Cross office 1801 Robinson or from any of the 2016 Star Dancers.
